Tonight Two Men Will Be on Lookout for Prowler - Monday, March 5, 1962

Back to the daily, fast passing week routine of classes, work and study plus doing things "on the run" in between. They still haven't caught he prowler although reports are that he's been seen or heard every night. Tonight we're having two men in each back side end room and they'll have a walkie-talkie. Last night Nickel was our guard. Mom Hawkins just came past. I told her I wasn't concerned (about the prowler). She said I looked so nice yesterday in my magenta dress. We had an LLC meeting tonight about our WUS booth.

Lucerne Freshman Girls Sponsor Rose Tea - Sunday, March 4, 1962

The Lucerne freshman girls sponsored the Rose Tea for the senior women, faculty wives and house mothers this afternoon in Hawley Lounge. It was so nice. The Lucernes are really a nice bunch of girls - so quiet and considerate. Flo, Bonnie and I went to the Chamber Orchestra Spring Concert at 4:00. I wrote up a report to get extra credit for music class. It was snowing some on our way to the "spring" concert.

Terry Fixes My Hair and it Gets Comments - Saturday, March 3, 1962

I've just spent a great Saturday at Park College. After the world lit test (on which I think I did okay) I went down to the gift shop and got Virginia a bracelet for her birthday. The lady wrapped it so I mailed it. After dinner Margie and I went down again and I bought a kite and some string. We're going to fly it from Alfalfa Point. Terry fixed my hair and I've had so many comments on it. Tonight Viv and I went to "The Parent Trap" and then I went with Patty Dewing to the basketball game. We won, and George Horneker made a real long shot at the ending buzzer to end Park's 1962 basketball season on a happy note!!

Tracks in Snow, Noises and a Man Running Bring Two Policemen to Dorm - Friday, March 2, 1962

I've had to spend Friday night studying world lit. Hope it pays off at least a little. Quite a few were around the dorm tonight. We had some excitement last night. Tracks in the snow, noises and an open side door in the past days have indicated someone has been prowling around the dorm at night. Last night when some of the girls were investigating noises they heard while in the lounge, Donna Marshall looked out the door and saw a man. He ran. Tonight we're going to have two policemen keep watch from second floor's store room.

Paul Weiss Lectures on "God and Common Sense" in Chapel - Thursday, March 1, 1962

March again already. Oh, these passing years! And Carlyn and I saw a robin when we were coming back from work - right out here by Hawley. We've had on campus since Tuesday through today the speaker of the year, Dr. Paul Weiss, a professor of philosophy at Yale. He talked today on "God and Common Sense" in chapel. He was to autograph books for those who wanted him to in the bookstore. We just had a house meeting about our house party, women's judicial council, and questions to ask the president.

In Love With Things in General and Happy to Be Working - Wednesday, February 28, 1962

I have my French done and letters written to the folks and Grandma and Grandpa. Now to study my anatomy bone parts and read more of The Inferno - no, it's kind of late for that if I intend to get up for breakfast. I'm really in love with things in general. I've never been so happy at college as I have since I began working. I handed in my first work sheet. I should be getting about $39.00 in a few days. Gee! I'm glad I earn my pay. Some of the workers I don't think do. "T'were it Leap Year I'd make the big leap."!!

Dr. Paul Weiss, Professor of Philosophy at Yale, is on Campus - Tuesday, February 27, 1962

I must settle down with my studies. If one goes well, another doesn't. I did a terrible job on an anatomy lab pop quiz. We had as assembly speaker "the keynote speaker of the year," Dr. Paul Weiss. professor of philosophy at Yale University, who's on campus until Thursday. What opportunities I've had this year! I studied at the library with Marge and Judy. I left my class ring in my shorts pocket in my gym locker. It's like losing my right arm. I like the song "Blue Water Line" - I've been listening to my transistor more lately.
